Dispatcher and lineman

At CPAQ.AERO, each season, we hire a dispatcher/lineman, who must be versatile. If the flying world seems attractive to you and you wish one day learn how to pilot a plane or even make a career of it, this is a good starting point…

The dispatcher's role in an airline company consists of helping pilots in their flight planning, (weather, navigation, weight and balance ...). On the other hand, in a flying school, he works at the front desk, makes reservations, takes care of the billing after each flight, updates the aircraft logbooks, plays a key role in providing snags information to the person in charge, and works as a salesperson at the boutique.

This can be a full-time job which requires, depending on the school priorities, to be fast, efficient and professional while keeping a smile on his face.

Indeed, at any moment it can be necessary to make several things at the same time, such as: answering the phone while making an invoice for a customer returning from his flight and give the flight documents to the next pilot while reminding him to sign the daily flight sheet whereas another pilot is waiting to pay his fuel bill. This is a fast pace working environment.

In addition, you have to be bilingual, be familiar with a computer and, of course, have a true passion for world of aviation!

Lineman (sometimes Linewoman ...):

It is a work belonging outside, which may be quite physical. the Lineman's role is quite as pivotal as the others even though it does not look like much.

It consists of refuelling airplanes, tug them to the parking areas, tie them down and put covers during winter. He often helps the maintenance technician on some little tasks, makes the interior and exterior cleaning of the airplane and during winter, he occasionally has to shovel off the snow around the airplanes.

Should be efficient, careful with the aircrafts and enjoy being outside whatever the weather.
